The first Cultural Garden in Cleveland

The British Cultural Garden, which was the first of the 33 culturals garden in Cleveland, was dedicated in 1916 by Leo Weidenthal. More than 100 years on, the British Cultural Garden Association is working to help maintain the gardens and restore them to their former glory.

A separate organization from BACC Ohio, the BCGA has its origins in 2016 when BACC Ohio established a separate non-profit 501(c)(3) foundation to maintain one of the United States’ Cultural Treasures, the 100 year old British Cultural Garden, formerly the Shakespeare Garden. The Garden is a unique part of British heritage and culture in Cleveland, situated amongst a community of some 33 national gardens, and the site of a program of events each year.

We are always looking for more volunteers to get involved, all levels of experience welcome! Please sign up for our emailing list here and follow us on social media!
