CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

S. George Alfonso founded The Law Offices of George Alfonso, and has been providing his unique brand of “Concierge Counsel” to clientele in the U.S. and around the world for the past twenty-five years. In addition to his boutique law firm, Mr. Alfonso has, for almost a decade, served as “Of Counsel” to the Dallas-based international trade law firm of Braumiller Law Group, PLLC (“BLG”). Mr. Alfonso has represented his clients in complex commercial litigation around the country as well as in arbitration (both U.S. and international). Mr. Alfonso has been admitted to practice law in numerous Federal District Courts, the U.S. Court of International Trade, as well as the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals· and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, where appeared for oral argument. Mr. Alfonso has also been retained as an international law expert in matters ranging from U.S. corporate compliance and protocol to international divorce and child custody matters in relation to The Hague Treaty. As lead counsel for his firm as well as in his role as Of Counsel to BLG, Mr. Alfonso provides representation regarding complex contract negotiations and drafting, dispute resolution (problem solving), in both pre-and-post commencement of litigation and arbitration matters. In the summer of 2018, Mr. Alfonso testified on behalf of a number of BLG clients regarding the U.S. 301 Tariffs brought against the Peoples Republic of China (“PRC”) exports. Mr. Alfonso, along with Adrienne Braumiller, co­ founded Reigncore, LLC, a Dallas-D.C. based lobbying and consulting firm focusing on international trade and compliance matters, including ITAR issues such as exemptions, licensing and compliance.

 

LEADERSHIP

George Alfonso served two consecutive terms as Chair of the Dallas Bar International Law Section (ILS) and is currently serving as Chair Emeritus of the Section. In his Of Counsel capacity with Braumiller Law Group, he is also the acting liaison between Braumiller and the Dallas-based European-American Chamber of Commerce. S. George Alfonso was one of twelve attorneys selected to the “Appellate Steering Committee” by a prominent nationally recognized law firm which led the “Joint Defense Group”, in the substantial and multi-party litigation of Taylor et. al. vs. Acxiom et. al. (08-41083).

 

CREDENTIALS

Mr. Alfonso graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas (“SMU”) with a B.S. in Political Science. While attending SMU, Mr. Alfonso studied overseas at the Institut de Touraine in Tours, France where he obtained a degree in language. Mr. Alfonso received his Juris Doctor (JD) from Pepperdine School of Law, located in Malibu, California.

 

SPEAKING AND PRESENTATIONS AND PUBLICATIONS

George Alfonso has spoken at regional and international conferences on subjects including international arbitration and the need for well-drafted dispute resolution clauses in international agreements, the International Chamber of Commerce (“ICC”) arbitration process, as well as international contract negotiation strategies and best practices. He has organized and produced in conjunction with Braumiller Law Group, regional and international conferences on the North American Free Trade Agreement (“NAFTA”), and subsequently the USMCA, as well as spoken at several conferences and events on the EU’ s General Data Protection Regulations (“GDPR”).
