John founded the company in October 2014.  Prior to Blue Abyss, he began his working career in the British Army which he joined aged 16.  There as part of their development soldiers were offered experiences and training in one of a number of adventurous sports, so John chose to be taught to SCUBA dive – although he had been swimming since he was 18 months old.

After leaving the army John joined a London City-based management consultancy developing leadership and change management programs for FTSE 100 companies.  Subsequent roles in IBM and GE Capital IT Solutions broadened his experiences with both client and project management.

John has been involved in start-ups focusing on consultancy, and innovative insulation.  However, a series of circumstances brought him the opportunity to return to his love of the marine world, diving and the world of training astronauts that is Blue Abyss
