Dr. Bonfield received her undergraduate degree from John Carroll University.  A Masters in experimental pathology and doctorate was obtained from Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Bonfield is a Diplomat of the The American Board of Medical Laboratory Immunology and Director of the CTSC Bioanalyte Core.

Dr. Bonfield is also the program director of the new Masters of Science in Regenerative Medicine & Entrepreneurship (RGME) at the National Center for Regenerative Medicine.

Dr. Bonfield’s laboratory focuses on understanding chronic inflammation. The lab’s models are pre-clinical from the bench to the bedside for diseases focusing on the mechanisms that lead to disease and the development of new diagnostics or therapies. The Bonfield team has been invested in mentoring individuals over the years in research and technology, hosting individuals with diverse backgrounds and levels of education, facilitating direction for personal achievement.
