The British American Chamber of Commerce (BACC) is proud to support the 2025 Elgar Society Annual Conference at the Marriott Courtyard Hotel\, University Circle\, Cleveland. Celebrating the life and music of British composer Edward Elgar\, this event offers a range of performances\, talks\, and tours. The British American Chamber of Commerce of Ohio is a proud donor to this event and invites members and friends to attend. \nConference Highlights:  \n\nThursday\, April 24: Kick-off dinner and keynote address by Charles McGuire from Oberlin Conservatory.\nFriday\, April 25: Tour of Severance Music Center and Cleveland Museum of Art’s British collection\, followed by the BACC reception and an Elgar organ recital by Ken Cowan.\nSaturday\, April 26: Insights from Maestro Kazuki Yamada on Elgar\, a lecture by Lani Spahr\, and a Cleveland Orchestra concert featuring Elgar’s Symphony No. 1.\n\nYou are welcome to participate in all or part of the conference at reduced costs. Don’t miss out on this chance to network with industry leaders\, explore new technologies\, and discover new solutions that can help you take your business to the next level. \nDetail to come…..\n \n  \n\n\nAbout Chris Tyler – President\nAfter starting his career Foseco International Ltd in the UK he was transferred to their US base in Cleveland in 1969\, later becoming Technical Sales Engineer for in Detroit. \nIn 1974\, Chris was appointed Sales and Marketing Manager of Dynacast International Ltd\, a precision die casting company\, manufacturing in 10 countries. During his 22-year tenure he held General Management positions in Milan\, Montreal and Chicago. \nHe formed their Magnetic Material Division in Chicago and led the acquisition of two flexible ferrite magnet companies in Ohio\, which were combined to become Flexmag Industries Inc. \nIn 1995 Chris was appointed president and CEO of Stackpole Magnets\, later renamed Kane Magnetics. He was responsible for expanding the company both organically and through the acquisition of two magnet companies in Sheffield UK and Dijon France. He went on to establish successful global businesses within the TyTek Group in 2001. \n  \nAbout Matt Eccles – Marketing Director\nFollowing a degree in Communications\, Matt marketed brands at the start of the dot.com boom before forging a career both in the UK Government and the private sector. \nWorking for the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) he built a deep understanding of manufacturers requirements with regard to marketing and was instrumental in encouraging business leaders in SMEs to move into digital marketing. He helped them to understand how customer insight could help to grow business in challenging economic conditions. \nMoving into consultancy\, he marketed industrial businesses with a three-tiered strategy of awareness\, acquisition\, and advocacy. This has led to unrivalled media opportunities (awareness)\, contract wins (acquisition) and awards success and referrals (advocacy). \nAfter working with TyTek to develop their brand in 2015\, he was delighted to accept an offer to join full-time in 2016 and is based in the company’s UK office in the heart of the country’s industrial base.
